Project Manager


EAR is looking for a project manager with experience in managing petroleum and hazardous waste projects. This position involves the management of various types of environmental projects, which can include, but is not limited to site investigations, remedial system installations, remedial injection and excavation, UST removals, operation and maintenance of various types of remedial systems, long term monitoring, potable well impacts, as well site closure and abandonment.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day to day management including, but not limited to, cost proposal preparation, correspondence with client, subcontractors and regulatory personnel, drafting RFPs and associated scope of works, work plan preparation, implementation of field work, coordination and management of subcontractors, data analysis, evaluation, reporting and budgeting. Knowledge and familiarity with pilot tests (pump test, AS/SVE test) is a plus. Project sites are predominantly located on Long Island, NYC and limited Westchester county area.

Requirements

The position requires strong attention to detail in order to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client specific requirements. The candidate must demonstrate good communication skills and technical skills. The candidate should have the desire to take on new tasks, be open to various skill development opportunities and be a team player. The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to multi task. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on environmental projects and a strong technical background in regulatory affairs, environmental science or natural sciences.

  • Education: Prefer candidate with a four-year degree or higher in science, engineering, or technology plus 5 years of experience in the environmental industry, or an associate’s degree in science, engineering, or technology plus 7 years of experience in the environmental industry.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Must be a team player, good communication skills, good writing skills, and attention to details. Experience and familiarity with preparing cost proposals, preparation of environmental work plans and reports, data tabulation and analysis, mapping and graphical presentation of data is preferred. Experience and familiarity with groundwater sampling, soil and/or air/vapor sampling, and remedial treatment systems a plus. Comfortable working with computers and a strong knowledge of standard software packages, Microsoft Office Suite (word processing and spreadsheets) is necessary. Knowledge of remedial system equipment and electrical components a plus.
  • Special: Position will require Health & Safety certification pursuant to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (OSHA Hazwoper 40-hr course/annual 8-hr refresher); CPR/first aid; will renew expired certifications if necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
